NLHS Multi-Magnet Director's Corner

 Laurelle Texidor, Director

Mrs. Laurelle Texidor
Interim Director

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the NLHS Multi-Magnet Campus! We are a community of learners, that has recently been designated a Certified Magnet School, as well as a National Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America!

As a magnet student, you will receive a well-rounded experience that supports your academic, social and emotional growth and your interests in International Education, Arts and STEM. It is our expectation that you will take full advantage of the many opportunities that are offered and that you will put forth your best effort in all areas, as well as challenge yourself to push beyond perceived and real obstacles. To this end, we will endeavor to provide a personalized, caring, nurturing yet challenging school environment that strengthens student outcomes.

In addition to ensuring that you earn enough credits to graduate, you should also plan to:

  • Earn college credits while you are still in high school
  • Participate in career-related internships
  • Join in at least 2 extra-curricular activities a year
  • (sports, clubs, etc.)
  • Obtain 15 hours per year of academic enrichment during after-school hours (after-school, Saturday academies, summers)
  • Give 15 hours per year of service to the community.

At the NLHS Multi-Magnet Campus, one of our greatest strengths is our welcoming, supportive, and positive school climate. Our students are expected to:

  • Respect each other
  • Respect the staff, the building and campus grounds
  • Take pride in their accomplishments, while also focusing on continuous improvements.

I welcome your ideas, questions, and suggestions as faculty and staff work to provide you the best possible education. Know that we are here to support your efforts before, during and after school.

I look forward to working with you and getting to know you better!

Best regards,

Mrs. Texidor
