Meal Storage and Heating Instructions

We hope you enjoy your meals! Please take a few moments to read the information below regarding storage and preparation of your meal. All foods requiring refrigeration need to be kept at a temperature of 40°F or below. Shelf-stable items should be stored at a temperature of 85°F or below.

Storage

All Fresh Milk & Juices-Refrigeration required. Consume by the “Best By” date located on the product.

All Cereals, Crackers, Chips, Sunflower Seeds - Shelf-stable. No refrigeration required. Consume by the “Best By” date located on the product.

Fresh Whole Fruit– Refrigeration recommended, but not required.

All Shelf-Stable Fruit - (e.g.: Applesauce cups, Raisins, etc) - Shelf-stable. No refrigeration required. Consume by the “Best By” date located on the product.

Fresh Processed/Bagged Fruit & Vegetables– Refrigeration required. Consume by the “Best By” date located on the product.

String Cheese- Refrigeration required. Consume within 3 days.

Lunch Items that require heating (e.g.: Cheeseburgers, Enchiladas, Pizza, etc)– Store in the freezer. Thawing meals is recommended, but they should never be thawed at room temperature.  Place in the refrigerator the day prior to reheating. Meals can be cooked from frozen if preferred. Store in the refrigerator no longer than 3 days. Heat up following the heating instructions on this form below, and consume within two hours. Do not refreeze products after reheating.

Cold Sandwiches (e.g.: SBJ, Wraps, Deli Sandwich, etc)– Refrigeration required. Previously frozen products. Consume within 3 days.

 

MEALS

 

Sloppy Joes- Meal Contains: Wheat, Soy

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Remove bread and toast separately from other components. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes (for frozen) or 10-15 minutes (for thawed). Half-way through reheat, stir meat to evenly cook. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook, checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached, remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard. 

*CAUTION: Product will be hot. Consume with caution.

Microwave (Thawed is recommended):  Remove the item(s) from the metal container onto a microwave safe plate/container. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute 30 seconds. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165°F is reached. If the meal has not reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F, continue to reheat on HIGH in 15-20 second intervals until minimum internal temperature of 165°F is reached.  Remove the item from the microwave, and let sit for one minute before consuming.  Consume within 2 hours or discard. 

*CAUTION: Product will be hot. Consume with caution.

 


Cheeseburger
- Meal Contains: Wheat, Dairy

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Remove bread and toast separately from other components. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 15-20 minutes (for frozen) or 10-15 minutes (for thawed). Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard. 

*CAUTION: Product will be hot. Consume with caution.

Chili Dog- Meal Contains: Wheat

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Remove bread and toast separately from other components. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 5-10 minutes (for frozen) or 10-15 minutes (for thawed). Half-way through reheat, stir beans to evenly cook. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Stuffed Shells- Meal Contains: Wheat, Milk, Egg

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Remove bread and toast separately from other components. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 10-15 minutes (for frozen) or 15-20 minutes (for thawed). Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard. 

*CAUTION: Product will be hot. Consume with caution.

Microwave(Thawed is recommended): Remove the item(s) from the metal container onto a microwave safe plate/container. Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, 30 seconds. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165°F is reached. If the meal has not reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F, continue to reheat on HIGH in 15-20 second intervals until minimum internal temperature of 165°F is reached.  Remove the item from the microwave, and let sit for one minute before consuming.  Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Beef Tacos- Meal Contains: Wheat

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Remove tortillas from other components and set aside. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 10-15 minutes (for frozen) or 15-20 minutes (for thawed). Half-way through reheat, stir meat and beans to evenly cook. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard. 

*CAUTION: Product will be hot. Consume with caution.

Microwave(Thawed is recommended): Remove the item(s) from the metal container onto a microwave safe plate/container. Set tortillas aside from other components.  Microwave on HIGH for 1 minute, 30 seconds. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165°F is reached. If the meal has not reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F, continue to reheat on HIGH in 15-20 second intervals until minimum internal temperature of 165°F is reached.  Remove the item from the microwave, and let sit for one minute before consuming.  Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Beef Enchilada- Meal Contains: Wheat, Milk

Oven: Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove the lid of the container. Place the metal container on a baking sheet and cook for 10-15 minutes (for frozen) or 15-20 minutes (for thawed). Half-way through reheat, stir rice and beans to evenly cook. Meal is ready to consume when an internal temperature of at least 165ºF is reached. If the temperature has not reached the required temperature continue to cook checking every 5 minutes. Once temperature is reached remove from the oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes before consuming. Consume within 2 hours or discard.

Consume within 2 hours or discard.
