School Meals

Dear New London Public Schools Families:  


Our plan for school meals in NLPS is to ensure that all students receive daily meals in a safe and comfortable environment so that they are ready to succeed in academic and social activities. In order to achieve our goal, we have made the following plans in conjunction with district administration and local health authorities, effective Wednesday, September 9th, 2020.    


Menus: The school lunch menu is available online here:   


Allergies: Please contact your child’s school nurse as soon as possible to notify them of any food allergies your child has so accommodations can be made. Modified meals will be provided by the Child Nutrition team.  


Take Home Meals for Hybrid Learning StudentsTake home bags will include breakfast and lunch for 5 days, with the option of milk. 

  • A-Cohort students will be sent home with take home bags on Tuesdays. 

  • B-Cohort students will be sent home with take home bags on Fridays. 


Distance Learning Students and Community Members with Children 18 and younger, not enrolled in NLPS:  7 days’ worth of food may be picked up every Wednesday from your assigned school location between the hours of 9am and 12pm. Meals may be picked from C.B. Jennings International Elementary Magnet from 3:00-5:00pm .   

  • New London High School Multi-Magnet School Campus: Parent drop off loop (by the end of the STMHS building)
  •  Bennie Dover Jackson Multi-Magnet School Campus: School Front Entrance
  •  Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School: Main Entrance
  •  Nathan Hale Arts Magnet Elementary School: Parent drop off loop
  •  C.B. Jennings International Elementary Magnet School: Cafeteria parking lot entrance
  •  Harbor Elementary SchoolEnter School St. Parking lot, follow signage for food pick-up, exit Converse St.


Full District (Long-Term) Closure: In the event of a full district closure, the only method of food distribution will be along school bus routes. In the event of a full school closure, updated distribution days, locations, and times will be posted.  

  • Please contact Samantha Wilson,, with any questions, or if you do not have adequate refrigeration to store take home meals. 

  • If picking up meals along bus route, you will be required to provide proof of student enrollment for each child in the household.  


Please stay attentive to our social media and website postings regarding changes to meal distribution in the event of an individual, school based, or district wide short term closures.
